How the costs are made up
A request via 420doc involves two clearly separate cost items: the medical prescription fee and, if a prescription is issued, the pharmacy costs. 420doc charges no platform or service fee.
Medical prescription fee (GOÄ)
The medical service is billed directly by the treating doctor under the German scale of medical fees (GOÄ). You pay once as part of your request.
Pharmacy costs
Medicine price, advice and shipping or pick-up fees are billed separately and directly by the pharmacy you choose, online or on site.
420doc does not charge its own platform or service fee. You only pay the medical prescription fee and, if a prescription is issued, the pharmacy costs directly to the pharmacy.

- Follow-up prescription
- 7,50 € as part of the current offer (until 31.12.2026), with a new medical assessment.
- Video consultation
- Optional. The price is shown before booking. Not required for a prescription request.
- On-site appointment
- Optional. The price is shown before booking.
- Schengen certificate
- Optional for travel within the Schengen area. The price is shown before ordering. Important: you need a separate certificate for each strain. If you take three strains with you, for example, that means three documents.
- Rejection
- If no prescription is issued, we refund the prescription fee in full.
After the offer ends, the prices shown to you before your request apply. There is no subscription and no automatic follow-up costs.
Medicine
What the cannabis costs at the pharmacy
The pharmacy sets the price for the medicine and you pay it directly there. According to the Cannabis-Barometer by the provider Bloomwell, the average price per gram of flowers in the second quarter of 2026 was around 4 euros, with a downward trend.
The price depends on strain, producer, import route, availability and pharmacy. In the live stock you can see and compare the prices of connected pharmacies before your request. Shipping costs depend on the pharmacy; they do not apply if you pick up.

You can estimate monthly costs like this: prescribed daily amount times 30 days times price per gram, plus shipping and the medical fee.

This is an example calculation, not a dosage recommendation. The right amount is determined individually by the doctor.
Fair refund
What happens if the doctor rejects the request?
If the treating doctor rejects your request, you do not pay for the prescription request.
- If rejected, we refund the full prescription fee (100 %).
- The refund goes to the original payment method, usually within a few working days.
- No pharmacy costs arise, because no medicine is dispensed without a valid prescription.
Reimbursement
Health insurance, private insurance and allowance schemes
420doc does not bill statutory health insurance. The medical service is billed privately under GOÄ. Since 30 July 2026, statutory health insurance no longer pays for dried cannabis flowers anyway.
- Privately insured patients can submit the GOÄ invoice and the pharmacy invoice to their insurer. Reimbursement depends on the tariff.
- For civil servants with allowance entitlements (Beihilfe), the rules of the responsible office apply.
- Prescribed medicines can count as medical expenses under extraordinary burdens in German tax law (§ 33 EStG) to the extent they exceed the reasonable burden. The prescription serves as proof.
420doc gives no reimbursement guarantees. Please clarify possible reimbursement in advance with your insurer or allowance office.
Receipts
Invoices and bank statement
You can find the medical invoice under GOÄ and, if available, the pharmacy invoice in your dashboard at any time. Your bank statement shows a neutral name of the practice or payment provider, not the word cannabis.
